They are sure harder to come up with when you have to pick one for each gender.  So far we have a few for  a boy and for a girl.  My friend Crystal figured out how to do a poll on her blog, but I guess mine is not as cool. So, I thought I would just try it out here.  For a girl here is what we have…the middle name will Jean for sure.  We figured it’s more than just ironic that my Mom, Russell’s Mom, both my Grandma’s and one of Russell’s Grandmas all have Jean for their middle name…so how could we Not use jean for the middle name if it’s a girl??

Here’s the girl names that are in the running so far.  Macie jean. Callie Jean. Kamryn Jean.  Of course since we are so unsure we are gladly welcoming and considering suggestions.  Who knows….we may end up using something completely different.

For a boy we have always liked the name Dylan but since it is already used by Russell’s cousins and our good friends we are considering using it as a middle name.  Nothing for sure here either.  Here are the first names.  Max. Zackary. Nathan. And a couple I like but Russell isn’t too fond of yet…Isaac. Mitchell. Malachai. Or any combination of these??  We aren’t stuck on Dylan for a middle name…..

Well, I am practically 8 months pregnant now and I’m getting to the point where I can’t sleep very well.  Last night I tossed and turned for hours.  So, I’m hoping that tonight, if I stay up late enough, exhaustion will kicj in and I will be able to fall right to sleep.  You would think that being 8 months pregnant, having 2 kids of my own, watching a niece and nephew over night, lugging all four kids to a softball game in 100 degree weather, loading and unloading five kids out of the car to and from vacation bible school in 100 degree weather, cleaning the house, and making meals, that I would be so tired and able to sleep great.  Not the case in this situation.  The thing is I feel tired, but when I lay down and try to close my eyes, I can’t get to sleep.

I don’t even know if when I read this tomorrow if it will all make sense….

My baby girl is turning 7.  It’s starting to hit me that she is turning more into a big girl that I wanted to realize.  7 just seems so old to me.  I have a second grader. Weird!  She cares about the things she wears, wants her hair just right, gets embarrassed when she gets hurt, loves Jesus, her brother, her family andher friends, is a great helper and is such a BLESSING!

I have to share the latest story…

The other night, I told her to go lay down and I would come tuck her in in a minute.  When I went into her room she laid there crying.  I asked her what was wrong and she said in this sobbing voice “I don’t want to get married.”  Not sure what made her start thinking about this subject….

A little history here: Madi has insisted for at least two years that she is going to live with us forever.  She has always said that when she gets married her and her husband will live in our house.  She NEVER wants to move out.  Trust me, I have this on video for proof in the years to come.  I originally told her that she will change her mind and thats ok, but she argues and cries and gets upset.

So, back to the other night.  I said “Ok hunny.  You don’t have to get married.  You can live her as long as you want…forever.”

“But what if a boy thinks I’m cute and I think he’s cute and he wants to marry me?”

“Well, then you can marry him.”

“But I don’t want to get married!” She is still crying at this point.

“Then you can tell him you don’t want to marry him.”

“But wouldn’t that hurt his feelings?”

At this point I think to myself “Am I seriously having this conversation with my almost 7 year old?

I told her too bad if it hurts his feelings, if you don’t want to marry someone then you don’t have to.  Finally that ended our deep conversation.

I just love the things her little mind comes up with.  She is always so tuned in to things going on around her.  Her mind must truly go a million miles a minute.

Seven….my lucky number.  It’s got to be a great year this year.  I am looking forward to great things happening for her in second grade. Her confidence has grown so much just since the end of the year this summer school has been an amazing program for her and just what she needed at just the right time.

Reflections of Lincon turning two……coming the next time I am tired but can’t sleep night.  Time is flying.

I think we are going to go with the black and white in the baby’s room.  We may or may not end up accenting with other colors….We’ll see how it looks.  Not sure yet as to exactly it will look.  I’m going to be looking and picking out fabric soon.  More pics of the lil ones room to come.  Thanks again!

So I was just looking online trying to figure out what do do for the finishing touches on the baby’s room.  Then I had an idea and now I want to see what all of you think.  What if I did black or black and white for the bumper, skirt and window ( either solid black or stripes or polka dots) and then accented with color on the walls and in the baby blanket once the baby is born and we know if its a boy or girl?  I’m thinking it would be really cute, but maybe this pregnancy is getting to me and I don’t have a clue.  So, scroll down, look at the room and let me know what you think.  My feelings wont be hurt.  At least I don’t think they will be. 

Yeah!  We got our computer working again.  It actually wasn’t that bad not having access for a few weeks.  Thats probably because I was able to check e-mail and blog every other day at my parents.  Thanks mom and dad!  So, anyways be expecting more blogs and pictures from me.

People say she’s a mini-me….I don’t know why?

We decided to get creative with the squares around the light.

I volunteered as a camp counselor at our church’s Vacation Bible school this week.  I had to have both kids up, ready and out of the house by at least 8 each morning.  So, on top of that, being 29 weeks pregnant and Russell working out of town all week it’s now Friday and I am a little tired. 

 I don’t think any of our mornings went smoothe.  One day Lincon cried all morning as we treid to rush out the door.  Another day I had a dead battery, and today I had asked Madi to put my bag of VBS stuff in the car….we got almost to the church when I realized it was NOT in the car.  Had to turn around and drive back home.

It’s funny though because of all the rough mornings and busy evenings, VBS was great. I had my little group of 9 second graders who were just awesome.  We had such a good time all week long.  All of those who helped put this program on did such an awesome job.  I am proud to attend a church where there are so many who are willing to put out the time and effort of running such an awesome program.  I think there were 100 volunteers this week who helped in many different ways.  It was so well worth it. None of the kids in my group wanted the week to be over tday.
